After completing his studies in illustration at UMPRUM, Martin Lacko decided to venture into the Amazon rainforest. He traveled with local guides, exploring the incredible flora and fauna, capturing the images of animals, plants, and people that caught his eye in his sketchbook. His next step was embarking on a mountain trek to Tibet, where he aimed to immerse himself in the atmosphere of the magnificent Himalayan mountains, discover monasteries, and engage with local inhabitants who live in harmony with nature. Throughout his journey, he had the opportunity to witness breathtaking views, observe ceremonial dances, and learn about Buddhist philosophy. His sketchbook became filled with illustrations depicting themes of mysticism and spiritual connection with the surrounding world.
